Help Write an Accordion Rock Odyssey!
Barbara Adler and Proud Animal need your help to write a song!
“Mistakes I’ve Lived Through,” September 16th at the Accordion Noir Festival will feature a brand new piece written in collaboration with YOU.
“But How?”
Like so. We’ve all made mistakes. I want you to send me stories and one-liners about YOUR mistakes. The ones you’ve survived. Funny, scary, noble. Anything! The Proud Animal writing team (Barbara Adler and Gavin Youngash) will be using them to write a piece for the youth show at the 2012 Accordion Noir Fest. Our rock odyssey will be performed with backing from a youth accordion choir. Mistake? I don’t think so.

Thank you always, good suggesters, and see you at the festival! Barbara
You don’t get to be my age without having made a few mistakes in life.
I’ll start with a story that took place when I was just a teenager, still living at home. I went to boil some water in a pan on the stove. I think I was going to dye some underwear. I didn’t notice that my mom had replaced our old aluminum pan with a brand-new plastic one. After everyone noticed an odd burning smell, I rescued the pan, which now had two element rings engraved into the bottom of it.
Then there was the time when, as a new driver, I didn’t quite close the car door after I got in. I started the car and backed up in a hurry. The door flew open, and crashed into the garbage can. This all happened inside the garage.
Shall I go on?
